A Few Minutes of Yoga a Day
Tammy More | APR 17, 2024

We often put off our home yoga practice because we think that it’s not worth doing unless it is substantial, which to many practitioners means a solid hour on our mats. In this way, because we are often pressed for time, or find it difficult to discipline ourselves, we set ourselves up for failure. Try this: Today, take five minutes to do your yoga practice session. And take five minutes again tomorrow. And so on. By committing to five minutes, the idea of a daily practice becomes less daunting. There will be some days in which you keep going beyond five minutes because it feels good, because you have extra time, or because you feel particularly disciplined. And on most days, you can easily meet your basic goal of five minutes and feel a sense of accomplishment, empowering yourself through the daily rhythm of your commitment.
